Volunteering is a great way to access the festival while helping your community!

Perks of the Fringe: By volunteering with Fringe, you get a Fringe shirt, access to a free bus pass for the duration of the festival, a sense of wonder and community, and of course free access to all our incredible Fringe shows! Throughout your shift we’ll have snacks for you, and to celebrate all of our volunteers’ hard work there will be a volunteer appreciation party at the Bus Stop Theatre at the end of Fringe!

Volunteer duties include:

USHERING

At a Fringe Usher Shift, you will greet Fringe patrons and assist them in finding their seats. You will assist guests with locating exits and amenities such as restrooms and concession areas and ensure that aisles, walkways, and designated seating areas are clear, clean, and safe.

BOX OFFICE

At a Fringe Box Office shift, you will be expected to take payment for tickets, remind guests of Kjipuktuk/Halifax Fringe’s masking policy and hand out masks as needed, make change for cash payments and work Square software for card payments. Box office volunteers are expected to attend a volunteer orientation on Monday, August 26th at 6:00pm at the Bus Stop Theatre.
