About the event
Proof We Are Here is hosted by Halifax Fringe Festival, The Villains Theatre, and The Understudies both in person and online as an art making and community gathering session. This event will take place Feb 24 2025 from 6pm-9pm. This session is a closed space for those that feel deeply affected as marginalized individuals by the current political landscape. This space is intended to create art that brings us joy and resistance in terms of grief. For those willing to share their art publicly it will act as Proof That We Are Here.
The United States of America has removed all EDIA initiatives from federal work, removed pronouns from government email signatures, and refuses to acknowledge transgender identity. These examples being just a small handful of the many points that currently feel overwhelming to process.
